Neutrogena Hydro Boost: Not just skin care

If you checked out my article last week about preventing dry skin, you know that I consider the Neutrogena Hydro Boost lotion my favorite. It’s a holy grail product that all skin types should look in to. But, with the winter season approaching quicker than I would like in the Mid-West and all over the country, skin hydration is more important than ever. That’s why I use more than just the lotion to ensure my skin can handle walking in the brisk winds on my way to class. Check out these three products you can switch in your beauty routine.

Get a Boost Through Your Foundation

The Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint is the foundation for this line. I was apprehensive about the word tint at first, but this definitely provides light to medium coverage. There are currently 10 shades in the collection with a decent range so this would be suitable for most skin tones. The product itself promises to: hydrate for 24 hours while still being oil-free and non-greasy. You can find this at Ulta, Target or whatever your local drug store may be.

Conceal but Feel Moisturized

If you looked at my article about how important it is to hydrate
the under eyes, then you know how important the right concealer is. That’s why I like to use the Hydro Boost concealer. I’m a pretty firm believer that foundations and concealers are meant to work together. So when I tried the concealer on top of the Hydrating Tint I wasn’t surprised to see I liked it. The concealer itself only comes in five shades, but I have a medium skin tone with olive undertones and I use the lightest concealer available. This product also thrives on it’s own. That’s nice for when I want my skin to breathe on it’s own.

Don’t Forget the Lips

Matte lipstick, especially liquid matte lipstick definitely had a moment. But that’s over now, and hydration should be in. Normally I go with out a lip color in favor of just wearing Vaseline as a clear lip balm. The Hydro Boost Lip Shine changes that. There are only eight shades right now but the product is probably one of my favorites. It has the look of a gloss that actually benefits my lips. The formula is nondrying and the color can start as sheer or be in your face, depending on how you apply the product. I bought a Lip Shine on a whim, knowing how much I like Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line and I ended up loving it and going back to Ulta the next day to purchase more.

Stay Hydrated Friends

Even if Neutrogena hasn’t been for you in the past, I would encourage you to look in to this line. They have other products that are mostly skin care based if make up isn’t your thing, but these make up products really do make your skin better.

Thanks for reading, let me know if you try any of these, or if you think there is something else I should review!
